CryptoStick
Usage Expands Exponentially:
Portable Encryption Device Allows Easy Transport
of Encrypted Files
(Cary, NC) - Research Triangle Software, Inc. (RTS) (WWW.RTSZ.COM) announced today usage of the CryptoStickÔ has expanded phenomenally by businesses and individuals concerned with increased security and privacy issues. The CryptoStick is a portable data encryption and storage device, allowing individuals to carry encrypted files with them using a device able to fit on a key ring. The product was introduced to the world late last year by RTS, and since then has seen its use increase exponentially as the need for more and more security grows in the current world situation. The device has found wide acceptance, especially in the legal, accounting, and healthcare industries.
"The CryptoStick will fulfill the needs of most business travelers with a need to carry sensitive information or other secure data," said Jeff LeRose, CEO of Research Triangle Software. "It provides a convenient and effective solution to storing and transporting important data."
"I now use a CryptoStick to protect the sensitive information I carry," said Lee Barrett, National Practice Director for HIPAA from PriceWaterhouse-Coopers. "I find it provides a fully secure, convenient, and effective solution to store and transport confidential client data instead of using a bulky laptop computer or a handful of awkward and insecure diskettes to transport the valuable documents. It provides me with immediate access to encrypted, confidential documents."
The CryptoStick, which comes preloaded with the latest version of the CryptoBuddy software, can be connected to any computer with a USB (Universal Serial Bus) interface port, and is compatible with operating systems such as Windows® 98, SE, 2000, ME, and XP. The CryptoStick comes in a variety of colors for different storage capacities ranging from 16Mb up to 256Mb.
The CryptoStick is the follow-up product to the CryptoBuddy software product introduced by RTS last year. CryptoBuddy has received high marks from software reviewers across the country, and free demonstration version is available at more than one-hundred Internet download sites. The easy-to-use application allows the encryption and compression of sensitive files in a manner designed to simplify and demystify encryption in ordinary usage.
Data can be safely stored on the CryptoStick for up to ten years, and no software needs to be resident on the origin or destination computer. RTS is taking orders for the CryptoStick today with prices starting at $39.95 per unit.
